Suki Emmanuelle – My Baby’s A Showgirl

Emerging genre-defying artist Suki Emmanuelle returns with her new single ‘My Baby’s A Showgirl’ via APOLLO Distribution, an off-centre, atmospheric track that folds together electronic production, ghostly vocal melodies and a striking theatrical sense of performance.

Built from layered textures and drifting rhythms, the song moves between intimacy and unease, drawing from ambient and experimental musical worlds without fully belonging to either. There’s a looseness to it that resists settling into one style for too long.

Speaking about the track, Suki says: “Showgirl is about overcoming negative comments that people throw at you no matter what you do and getting swayed by those opinions and really questioning if you’re good enough. When I was writing this song, I was watching a lot of top of the pops and a dance group called “Pan’s People” who would choreograph a dance to a song that was trending at the time. I wanted to make the song sound similar to something they would dance too.”

That influence runs subtly through the track. Beneath its hazy electronic surface is something slightly surreal, with a constant sense of movement running through it.

‘My Baby’s A Showgirl’ follows Suki’s debut release ‘Discover Heaven’, released in October 2025, and continues to shape a musical world that feels hard to categorise, blending ambient electronics with melodic phrasing that often leans toward something more folk-rooted and instinctive.

To celebrate the release, Suki Emmanuelle will play a headline show at The Lower Third on 20 May, where audiences will hear the new material performed live for the first time.
