Ren Genevieve – Everything I Never Said

Pop singer-songwriter Ren Genevieve takes listeners on a journey through the ups and downs of a love story in her sophomore EP, Everything I Never Said.

The EP continues the narrative Genevieve started to tell in singles “Museum,” “Slowly Fading,” “Plangent Rose,” and the title track “Everything I Never Said.” Genevieve completes the arc with new additions “Moonlight” and “The Last Time.” Everything I Never Said is out now on digital streaming platforms worldwide.
Ren Genevieve’s masterful storytelling, lyricism, and lavish vocals are on full display as each song bleeds into the next, carefully charting the trajectory of a relationship. She touches upon each complex emotion from innocent exploration to honest self-reflection, self-preservation, and finally acceptance. Genevieve sets off on this journey, opening the EP with “Museum.” With an introspective guitar and longing lyrics, “Museum” examines the intersection of chance and fate. Imbued with a sense of hope, Geneview rides these emotions into the next new track, “Moonlight,” a poetic reflection on the feeling of taking that first step into the unknown and the promises it holds. However, before the listener gets too swept up into the romance of it all, Genevieve plunges them into a reality check with previously released single “Slowly Fading.” With rich instrumentation, this track builds toward a powerful chorus and then comes back down again. This ebb and flow is reminiscent of the uncertainty and fear of vulnerability that’s deeply ingrained in this narrative. The next song, “Plangent Rose,” is the final stand against ambiguity and unclear intentions. It’s a dreamy anthem, accompanied by dance-pop synths, reminding the listener to recognize their worth and let go of what no longer serves them. While Genevieve’s vocals provide a sense of inspiration, it’s still a hard reality to accept. She further examines this uncomfortable feeling in “The Last Time,” another previously unreleased track. The song remarks on the bittersweet impermanence of a relationship, sitting in all the emotions, willing to experience them all before parting ways one last time. Genevieve closes the EP with her title track, “Everything I Never Said.” Picking up the beat with a groovy intro, Genevieve’s strong pop vocals and rhythm are on full display, never once diluting her message. “Everything I Never Said” is the conclusion to this story, embracing the past with honesty, a sting of regret, but most importantly, clarity.
“Life is like a museum. Our memories—relics of moments in time. Once in a while, our selves collide. The statues of who we once were meet who we have become. What are we left with when we are forced to confront the echoing ruminations and the space between what was and what could have been?” says Genevieve on the EP, harkening back to the beginning track “Museum.” Written and composed by Genevieve and produced alongside Grammy Award-winning producer Joshua Monroy (Elton John, OutKast, Justin Bieber), Everything I Never Said is a fully realized body of work, marked by Genevieve’s powerful voice and candid lyrics.
Ren Genevieve is an NYC-based singer-songwriter who trained at the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College program and continued her studies at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. However, her love of music started long before her formal studies, grabbing a microphone and performing in front of her first audiences at just two and a half years old. Genevieve is inspired by artists like Taylor Swift, Beyoncé, and the songwriting talents of Joni Mitchell. She previously showed off her sincere and vibrant lyricism on her self-produced debut EP, tongue tied.
