Kim Petras – Pop Sound

GRAMMY® Award-winning pop maverick Kim Petras has officially released a fan-favorite track, “Pop Sound”, from her fandom-focused Pretour EP.

“Pop Sound” is produced by: Kim Petras, Frost Children and nightfeelings, and is also written by Petras, Angel Prost, Lulu Prost and Nick Weiss

Following the celebrated release of her third studio album, Detour, which was hailed by Pitchfork as her “true artistic debut” that “swerves between blunt-force bangers and finely crafted pop gems,” Kim is evoking the music that kept fans alive through several months of patient anticipation. While unavoidable delays impacted the rollout for the now-released Detour, Kim took February 2026 to double down on her new sound with an independently released, four-track EP entitled Pretour, originally available only via YouTube (with lo-fi exclusive videos) and SoundCloud. The tracks: “Pop Sound”, “Mr Producer (feat. BC Kingdom)”, “Cha Cha”, “and “Get Some (feat. Cortisa Star)” were quickly embraced by Kim’s loyal fans who were wise to understand Kim’s desire for this special drop. While the track has already racked up nearly 2 million streams across YouTube & Soundcloud, “Pop Sound” is now officially available for streaming across DSPs.

Kim recently gave an electric performance of the track at New York’s iconic Ladyland festival where fans continued to show out for “Pop Sound,” shouting every word back at her. Most recently, Kim performed a duet of breakout single from Detour, “Jeep,” alongside Charli xcx. She also pulled off a standout, self-funded performance of “Jeep” on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon with visuals that can only be defined as an honest extension of the music video for the track. Kim has also appeared in Europe recently, DJ’ing at renowned German nightclub Berghain along with frequent collaborator/producer Margo XS, sitting front row at Gucci in Milan, and sitting front row at Courreges in Paris.
