Josefin Öhrn – Electrified

Josefin Öhrn shares ‘Electrified’ with Bobby Gillespie (Primal Scream) on backing vocals from her debut solo album Cherry which follows on 25 September.
‘Electrified’ is a hazy, dream-pop track exploring the excitement of new love told in the shoegazed breathy whispered vocals of Josefin and Bobby intertwined with stabs of electric guitar, further enticing the listener into the song’s atmospheric, dreamy throes.
Josefin Öhrn says of the ‘Electrified’:
“When you have a moment of an almost magical thrill with a lover, when the senses, and surroundings all come together. That super heightened state of mind, dopamine bliss.”
Josefin Öhrn is the Swedish-born, London-based singer-songwriter who fronted the critically acclaimed and Swedish Grammy nominated hypnotic psych-rockers Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation (Rocket Recordings). Her solo offering Cherry is her most intimate and self-defined work to date and musically closer to the laid-back atmospheres of Kurt Vile, Lana Del Rey or Natalie Bergman with clear hooks and with Josefin’s voice magnetically standing front and centre as she candidly narrates a fascinating period of raw, intense and highly transformative self-actualization. The album boasts vocals from Anton Newcombe (The Brian Jonestown Massacre), guitar from Andy Bell (Ride/Oasis), piano, synths and other interesting sounds from Björn Yttling (Lykke Li/ Peter, Bjorn and John) and backing vocals from Bobby Gillespie on ‘Electrified’. The whole album is produced by Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm (Soundtrack Of Our Lives) and recorded in Gothenburg, London and Berlin.
The album Cherry follows on 25 September (Eagle Lane Records/Republic of Music) and will be available digitally and on vinyl.
