Natanya – Don’t Ask

London-based singer-songwriter-producer Natanya shares her new single, “DON’T ASK!”, a statement of self-possession that confronts both personal insecurities and external expectations.
Executive-produced by Natanya alongside Oscar Scheller, “DON’T ASK!” is anchored in the belief that closed mouths don’t get fed, bringing a renewed sense of attitude and urgency to pop.
Speaking on her new single, Natanya shares – “This song began as a set of chords I put together on my Yamaha E.Piano. I’d thought up a hook and started writing more lyrics while in the studio. Oscar Scheller brought it to life with synths, MIDI strings, and acoustic piano – I really wanted to give it that marching band feel. It’s an anthem about girl power, agency, and refusing to wait for permission.”
This single is the latest release since her double EP Feline’s Return and Feline’s Return Act II, which marked a bold evolution in her sound as she embraces a more classic pop-driven approach while building on the foundations laid in her debut EP and coming-of-age project, Sorrow at Sunrise.
Born in North West London, Natanya has long considered music her second language. She began classical piano lessons at age four, quickly discovering her perfect pitch, and later honed her craft at the Julian Joseph Jazz Academy, where she began writing her own songs. Inspired by artists like Janet Jackson, Amy Winehouse, Paramore, and Stevie Wonder, she started producing beats with friends—laying the groundwork for her debut tape Sorrow at Sunrise (2023), a coming-of-age project told through six diary-like entries during her first year studying English Literature at University College London. She later expanded her sonic and emotional palette with her twin EP releases, Feline’s Return and Feline’s Return Act II, marking a bold evolution toward a more refined, pop-driven sound. With a rapidly growing global fan base and a fearless approach to experimentation, Natanya is poised to define her own lane.
