Orange Oak – garden green eyes

Swedish indie folk duo Orange Oak have signed to Nettwerk and today share their debut single, “garden green eyes.”
The track introduces a timeless, intimate sound rooted in delicate harmonies, acoustic instrumentation, and emotional storytelling.
Comprised of Filippa Frisell and Erik Olsson, Orange Oak have quietly amassed tens of millions of views independently through organic online growth. Their music reflects the meaning embedded in their name: Orange symbolizing hope and new beginnings, Oak representing patience and stability.
“Orange is the color of the sunrise, a fresh start,” Erik explains. “Oak is stable and rooted, growing slowly but surely. That’s how we want to view the future—hopeful and grounded.”
“garden green eyes” captures the essence of Orange Oak’s artistry. Finger-picked acoustic guitar intertwines with airy harmonies and understated production as the duo explore inherited trauma and emotional lineage.
“We were talking about how we inherit more than just objects from past generations,” Erik shares. “Trauma gets passed down too, and the song reflects how deeply those roots can run.” Filippa adds, “Identifying inherited pain is one thing—breaking the pattern is much harder. We often turn a blind eye to what we could actually do about it.”
Both artists found music early in life. Filippa began touring as a teenager after co-founding a country-pop duo signed to a major label, later closing that chapter and shifting her focus to songwriting studies in Australia and Sweden. Erik, known from a young age as “the guitar guy,” pursued songwriting professionally in Stockholm before enrolling in a music production and songwriting school in Sweden, where he serendipitously crossed paths with Filippa.
Influenced by artists such as Phoebe Bridgers, Lizzy McAlpine, Gregory Alan Isakov, and Hazlett, Orange Oak first connected with fans on TikTok through English reinterpretations of Swedish songs. Their shared love for “organic and simple songs” eventually brought them to Nashville, where Orange Oak truly took shape. “That’s when we decided to do this for real,” Erik recalls. “We had already written so much together.”
Orange Oak will release a series of singles throughout 2026, leading into their debut EP for Nettwerk Music Group. Stay tuned for more music and news.
