First Time Flyers – Coming Home
Country collective First Time Flyers are back with their second studio album Coming Home and biggest headline tour to date, both scheduled for April 2027.
With this news comes the release of the heartfelt title track, out now.
Following an extraordinary year that saw their debut album Bound To Break reach No. 1 on the Official UK Country Chart and a run of sold-out shows across the UK, this marks the next chapter for a band on a genuine hot streak.
Written after an unforgettable period of touring, title track “Coming Home” is the first release off the album — an upbeat tune reflecting on the emotional journey of leaving home, chasing dreams and discovering that the places and people who shaped you are never far from your heart.
Between the bright lights, backstage moments and thousands of motorway miles, Tim Prottey-Jones, Poppy Fardell, Jake Morrell and Vicki Manser found themselves returning home with more than memories. They came back with new perspectives, fresh inspiration and a shared appreciation for where life had brought them.
The song was born during a writing session where the band found themselves talking about how much their lives had changed.
Jake reflected on never imagining he’d one day return to live in Norfolk, while Poppy spoke about feeling increasingly drawn back to her Devon roots. Those conversations became the foundation of “Coming Home”. Built around the lyric: “I had to leave to learn, to roam, but happy’s in these bones,” it celebrates growing up without growing apart. It’s about collecting stories, making mistakes, discovering yourself and eventually finding your way back to the people and places that have always felt like home.
Overflowing with the band’s trademark harmonies, infectious energy and heartfelt songwriting, the single perfectly captures the feeling of driving familiar roads with the windows down, knowing your favourite people are waiting at the end of the journey. It’s a reminder that home isn’t simply a place — it’s a feeling.
The release has been intentionally scheduled for 28 August 2026, the opening weekend of The Long Road Festival — an event that has become a true “home away from home” for the band. Having performed at the festival for four consecutive years, First Time Flyers return once again in 2026 to perform on the Main Stage, making the release of ‘Coming Home’ especially fitting.
First Time Flyers are four seasoned artists — Jake Morrell, Poppy Fardell, Tim Prottey-Jones, and Vicki Manser — whose individual journeys span the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Auditorium, and London’s West End. United by rich four-part harmonies and heartfelt songwriting, they’ve quickly become one of the UK’s most exciting country acts.
Their debut album Bound To Break went straight to Number One on the Official UK Country Albums Chart, and the sold-out Bound To Break Tour is already rumoured to head overseas in 2026. Breakout singles “Jump” and “Out Of Your Mind” picked up major radio support, landing playlists on BBC Radio 2, Smooth Country, Absolute Country, and Country Line Radio.
Live, they’ve supported Bruce Springsteen, The Chicks, and The Shires, and played festivals including C2C London, Glasgow and Berlin. With every release and every show, First Time Flyers are building not just a fanbase, but a community.
