GAYLE – bite the bullet

After storming back with new singles “junebug!” and “loving you is,” multi-platinum singer/songwriter GAYLE returns today with her latest single “bite the bullet,” a playful, flirtatious track that finds the Grammy-nominated artist turning heartbreak into a night of fun.
The new single arrives as GAYLE continues to build toward the release of her forthcoming full-length LP, Observing Chaos, which she co-wrote and co-produced and is due out on September 18.

At its core, “bite the bullet” was born from a period when GAYLE was experiencing sadness in a relationship ending. Rather than sitting in those feelings, she found herself going out, having fun, and embracing the rush of meeting someone new. That tension—between heartbreak and the thrill of impulsive attraction—became the foundation for the song.
“bite the bullet is an energetic pop song with punk/rock inspo that captures the feeling of meeting somebody and wanting to know everything about them! you don’t care if their past is pretty or ugly…if they have a bullet, you wanna bite it.” -GAYLE
Last month GAYLE returned with new single “junebug!,” which earned widespread editorial support including Spotify’s New Music Friday, Apple’s New Music Daily, and Amazon’s Breakthrough Pop, with Billboard declaring it the perfect song that “captures the carefree chaos that kicks off summer.” She followed it with the intensely emotional, piano-anchored ballad “loving you is.”
GAYLE, who has previously toured with multi-platinum artists including Taylor Swift, P!NK, Cyndi Lauper, Tate McRae, AJR and My Chemical Romance, has spent the better part of the past few years finding her emotional center. Following the whirlwind surrounding the massive success of her double-platinum anthem “abcdefu,” the singer took much-needed time to work on herself, her emotions, and, most importantly, learn exactly who she is as an adult — all topics she mines on her upcoming new LP.
To that end, Observing Chaos finds GAYLE at her most open and honest — dissecting the positive and negative choices in life, falling in and out of love, trust, heartbreak, partying, and the mania that encompasses life between the ages of 17 to 21.
Having recently launched a new fan club, the g spot, GAYLE has since set out to play her forthcoming new album directly to her fans via a road trip that has already included Nashville and Atlanta album listening sessions and exclusive experiences.
A 22-year-old Nashville-based singer/songwriter who garnered global attention with her bold music, GAYLE is entering an exciting new era of her career. Her breakout single “abcdefu” achieved multi-platinum status, topping international charts and earning her a GRAMMY nomination for “Song of the Year.” Her EP, a study of the human experience volume one, made with producers including Noah Conrad, Ryan Linvill, and Pete Nappi, introduced her as a bold new voice in pop music, while its follow-up, volume two, delved deeper into themes of vulnerability and authenticity, with tracks like “god has a sense of humor” and”indieedgycool” highlighting her fearless songwriting approach.
In addition to her own work, GAYLE co-wrote and performed “Butterflies,” a reimagined version of Crazy Town’s “Butterfly” for the Barbie movie soundtrack album, produced by Mark Ronson. She has also written for major artists like Kelly Clarkson and Roddy Ricch, and collaborated with artists such as Lauren Spencer-Smith, Em Beihold, and blackbear. Her television appearances include major shows including The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Accolades include being featured on Billboard’s “21Under21” list, appearing in Variety’s “Power of Young Hollywood Impact Report for 2022, and being named a YouTube Artist On The Rise as well as an MTV Global Push Artist.
