Dana Salah – Dori Dorak

Palestinian-Jordanian singer, songwriter, and producer Dana Salah returns with her new single “Dori Dorak,” out now via EMPIRE. Alongside the release comes the official music video and the announcement of her upcoming album Bent Bladak, coming this Summer 2026.
Translating to “if our roles were reversed,” “Dori Dorak” is a sharp, reflective look at the emotional imbalance in relationships. It unpacks the double standards placed on women, from the expectation to endlessly give and adapt, to staying composed and emotionally available without the same level of reciprocity. Instead of framing it as a confrontation, Dana flips the perspective, reimagining love through reversal and asking what it would look like if care, effort, and emotional presence were truly shared both ways.
The accompanying music video, directed by Armenian Egyptian, Los Angeles-based filmmaker Claire Bishara, brings the concept to life with a tongue-in-cheek, campy visual style that was entirely shot on film. Set in Los Angeles, it opens with Dana standing on a table pouring tea into a man’s cup below, an intentionally exaggerated image of service that plays on the idea of women doing the most to be seen, noticed, or appreciated. It quietly points to the expectations often placed on women before flipping the dynamic entirely. From Dana lifting a barbell stacked with watermelons to sitting sharply suited at the head of a table while men roll grape leaves, the video leans into vivid symbolism and contrast, pushing the song’s message in a bold, visually playful way.
Known for blending tradition with contemporary pop in her signature sound, often described as Fala7i Pop, Dana Salah has built a career defined by cultural duality and artistic reinvention. After graduating from Duke University, she moved to New York City and launched her career as King Deco, a moniker under which she amassed over 54M streams and collaborated with brands including Coca-Cola and Maybelline. Her early career included writing for television and working out of Jay-Z’s studio, charting on Billboard’s Dance charts, and performing at major festivals alongside artists such as Diplo, Skrillex, and Zhu.
In 2020, she returned to Amman, Jordan and began releasing music in Arabic under her own name, marking a pivotal shift toward cultural reclamation and artistic clarity. This evolution produced viral releases including “Weino,” “Bent Bladak,” and “Ya Tal3een” which have amassed over 14M views on YouTube alone and established her as a leading voice in contemporary Arab pop.
