Nora Kelly Band – Irish Goodbye

Today, Montreal based Alternative Country Band, Nora Kelly Band share “Irish Goodbye,” off their new album So Wrong For So Long due out May 22 via Mint Records.
“Irish Goodbye” is a reflective breakup anthem written after Kelly and her former bassist, also her ex-boyfriend, went their separate ways. It’s a poignant and relatable portrait of walking away not in anger, but in acceptance.
“This album is a study on the true meaning of strength, and with ‘Irish Goodbye,’ that strength came from realizing that sometimes love alone isn’t enough to sustain something that fundamentally doesn’t work. Sometimes you have to leave without spectacle or confrontation and simply slip away,” Kelly explains.
The song lands as a country-pop standout, channeling the spirit of Sheryl Crow and The Chicks with an emotionally grounded edge. In collaboration with director and longtime creative partner Gabie Che, the accompanying music video brings a whimsical contrast to the song’s themes. Set at a chaotic party from hell, the band navigates a cast of jock bullies, awkward conversationalists, and offbeat oddballs. One by one, they make their exit, retreating to spaces where they can breathe and reconnect with themselves.
After their multi-million stream hit “See You in Hell,” Nora Kelly Band is set to release their first single, “Port City Blues,” from their forthcoming album So Wrong For So Long.

Ships pass in the night as Kelly belts her seaborne ballad in search of love and light. Lush and cinematic, the track features swelling strings, dramatic horns, and Kelly’s distinctive vocals, lacing country lyricism with her spunky punk instincts.
Produced by Marcus Paquin (The National, Arcade Fire), the bold sonic arrangement brings texture and vastness to Kelly’s storytelling about “loneliness and a longing for stability.” She wrote the song while snowed-in at a cabin in Northern Quebec.
