panicbaby – Get Naked

panicbaby

Following her acclaimed debut EP and first-ever headline tour across Europe, panicbaby returns with her latest single “get naked” – dropped alongside a typically whimsical, VHS music video, her signature clash of nostalgia and absurdism continues to flourish within gritty yet glamorous spaces.

Connecting tender vocals and glossy, understated production, panicbaby’s intimate yet fierce soundwaves and storytelling continue to shine through every aspect of her cinematic artistry. Garnering serious tastemaker support with WONDERLAND, CLASH, THE LINE OF BEST FIT, COLORSXSTUDIOS, ONES TO WATCH, and BBC RADIO 1, the young star-in-waiting dropped her debut EP f u Jonathan earlier this year, affirming her quiet elegance before delivering late-night confessionals across her EU headline tour. Collecting over 30M streams and 2.5B views across her infectious digital footprint, panicbaby is rising as one of the most exciting new voices in the altpop landscape, and shows no signs of slowing down.

Across “get naked,” the rising talent emerges as brutally honest as ever to capture the moment when heartbreak turns into emotional exhaustion. Balancing dark humour with painfully relatable lyricism surrounding detachment and coping in unhealthy ways, panicbaby’s ability to turn destructive moments into strength and fragility is affirmed as she ascends over bold, dream-like strings and power-charged drums.

Created on the Omnichord – the iconic analog synthesiser from the 1980s – before receiving studio treatment from producer Toby Daintree (FKA Twigs, Joy Crookes, Kamal.) and string arrangement by Georgia Russell (Matilda Mann), the track expands beyond the stripped-back edge of her EP while staying intimate and raw, moving with atmosphere and intent to drive alt-pop into addictive new spaces.

Speaking on “get naked,” panicbaby mentions: “The song is about trying to escape heartbreak by replacing that person and numbing yourself with exchangeable people while being really heartbroken and sad.”

Delivering a stream of incendiary performances this year, selling out shows across London, Paris, Berlin, and more, as well as playing notable venues like Roundhouse and Islington Assembly Hall while supporting Artemas and Anna of the North respectively, panicbaby also joined US singer-songwriter Ari Abdul for her UK tour earlier this month, capping off the standout run at EartH in east London. Quickly introducing herself as a significant touring force in the making, the young vocalist and performer underlines her position as a global talent ready for mainstage success.
