Ally Evenson – Crash My Car For You

Today, rising alt-pop singer-songwriter Ally Evenson drops the official music video for “Crash My Car For You,” an emotionally poignant track from her sophomore album, Speed Kills, which officially dropped everywhere on February 20 via Assemble Sound/Atlantic.

Opening up an unparalleled visual world, the LP is also joined by SPEED KILLS: THE SHORT FILM.

On “Crash My Car For You,” Ally shares, “This song is about a real-life crush I had/have on someone. It hurts to have a crush sometimes. It makes you want to crash your car and put cigarettes out on your arm so you feel something other than The Yearning.”

Over the course of 14 tracks, the new album sees Ally process the aftershocks of a breakup: the ensuing anxiety, profound sadness, newfound confidence, and ultimately, self-actualization. Co-producing with longtime collaborator and trusted musical confidant nydge, she’s in the driver’s seat on Speed Kills.

She sums it up best, “All of these songs are about me and my life. You’re getting who I am on Speed Kills. This is a study of myself.”
