Leanna Firestone – Victory Lap

Indie pop singer-songwriter Leanna Firestone launches her newest chapter today with “Victory Lap,” the electrifying, piano-forward opening track from her forthcoming debut full-length, The Answer.
Her first new song since 2024, the release marks the beginning of a bold new era. With over 100 million career streams and a fiercely loyal fanbase, Firestone continues to prove that her unfiltered honesty doesn’t just attract attention, it builds lasting connection.
True to its name, “Victory Lap” bursts out of the gate with sharp wit and unapologetic confidence. Over punchy, high-energy production, Leanna delivers the kind of cutting, emotionally precise lyricism that has become her signature. The track captures that deeply satisfying moment when the person who once held the power is suddenly the one left behind. It’s playful, biting, and cathartic all at once.
“I wrote ‘Victory Lap’ about winning the breakup,” says Leanna. “Seeing your ex for the first time after a heartbreak can be devastating or incredibly validating. The song lives in that fantasy where you imagine they’re just as miserable (if not more) than you. Sometimes that’s the only thing that brings you peace.”
As the opening track on The Answer, “Victory Lap” sets the emotional tone for the album, Written through the lens of her best friends’ relationships and breakups, the project marks a subtle but powerful shift in perspective. Rather than centering on her own experiences, Leanna zooms out, examining love from the outside.
“The album was inspired by the stories my friends would tell me over drinks,” says Leanna. “There’s something theatrical about being on the sidelines of someone else’s relationship. The Answer is about girlhood, growing up, and getting over your ex.”
In celebration of the new single and forthcoming album, Leanna has also announced “The Victory Lap Tour,” a 19-date U.S. headline run kicking off May 22 in Dallas. The tour brings this new era to stages across the country, giving fans the first live taste of The Answer era. Tickets for the tour are on sale Friday, March 6.

Known for transforming awkward memories and uncomfortable truths into communal, singalong-ready anthems, Leanna first broke through with viral hit “Strawberry Mentos,” followed by fan favorites “Least Favorite Only Child” and “Diet Coke,” each surpassing 10 million streams. Following her headline “Becoming Unbecoming” tour and with a rapidly expanding global audience, she now steps into her most fully realized chapter yet.
Sonically, “Victory Lap” leans into sharp-edged indie pop with arena-ready hooks, while maintaining the emotional specificity that defines Leanna’s voice. It’s the kind of opener that demands attention, and signals that The Answer won’t shy away from hard truths or sharp edges.
