Silica Gel ft Japanese Breakfast – NamgungFEFERE

South Korean indie rock band Silica Gel (members: Geonjay Kim, Chunchu Kim, Hanjoo Kim, Woonghee Choi) have released “NamgungFEFERE,” a collaborative track with Japanese Breakfast.

The track showcases a new musical direction for Silica Gel, blending the unique styles of both artists and expanding Silica Gel’s sonic landscape.

Zauner spoke on the collaboration, saying “This was the first time I’ve ever written lyrics in Korean,” and went on to note, “Anyone who’s familiar with my work knows how much my Korean heritage has come to mean to me, so it was very personal to collaborate with such a revered Korean band and to create something for a larger Korean audience. “

In March, Japanese Breakfast released her latest album, For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women) via Dead Oceans to critical acclaim.

Japanese Breakfast continues her nationwide tour.
