Swimming Bell – 95 at Night

Swimming Bell2

Today Swimming Bell shares a new music video for their single “95 At Night,” directed by Christopher Good who has also directed videos for Mitski, Grizzly Bear, Waxahatchee, etc…

“I thought the song was really dreamy, so I thought a dreamy video would be good to make. It was primarily influenced by Maya Deren’s Meshes of the Afternoon, which is one of the most influential anythings, ever. You could probably watch Meshes of the Afternoon and then make a killer tiramisu, it’s just generally inspirational. Katie came out to Kansas to make the video and she bought me my first-ever coffee. I didn’t get hooked but I appreciated the attempt!” -Christopher Good

“I hadn’t met Christopher until I arrived in Kansas, but it felt like we had known each other forever.  He, Bella (AD) and I were laughing the whole time.  It was a dream and a delight.  I was also glad to give him complete control to come up with the concept knowing that we both like absurdity.” -Swimming Bell

Swimming Bell, the project of Katie Schottland, returns with Somnia, a mesmerizing five-song EP produced by Rob Schnapf (Elliott Smith, Kurt Vile, Cat Power). Released via Perpetual Doom, Somnia invites listeners into an ethereal sonic realm – an underwater dreamworld where melodies drift effortlessly and rhythms pulse like ocean currents.

Somnia,
