Hayley Sakkara – Becoming

Rising rock artist Hayley Sakkara returns today with “Becoming,” a new single out now on all streaming platforms.

The track marks her first release since landing on Metal Edge and stepping in as the face of Affliction’s women’s fall campaign.

Sakkara wrote the song with David Hodges, the Grammy winning songwriter and former Evanescence member who has written hits for Kelly Clarkson and Christina Perri. “Becoming” puts her unmistakable voice over heavy guitars and a chorus built for arenas. The song is about letting go of who you were told to be and becoming who you actually are.

“Writing ‘Becoming’ was a deeply personal experience for me because it comes from a place of feeling like you’ve lost yourself and slowly finding your way back. It means so much to me because it’s about realizing that no matter what you’ve been through or what anyone has made you believe about yourself, there’s still a fire inside you that nobody can take away. Which to me applies to so many things.” said Sakkara.
