Elanor Moss – Louise

Following a run of successful shows in the UK, Elanor Moss is launching her first full-band headline tour of the United States, beginning tonight at Nightclub 101 in New York City. To celebrate the occasion, she’s sharing a new video for The Knife, The Needle highlight “Louise.”

The video, an assemblage of day-to-night landscape photography, adds a sense of motion to the song, as gently-applied a brushstroke as the horns that accompany Moss’ guitar and voice.

Elanor Moss on “Louise”:

“Louise” is a song addressing intergenerational trauma between three generations of women within a family. I wrote it all in one sitting, but probably after two years of thinking and reading about and digesting things within my own life and family. It’s also about compassion, and how that itself can be a cycle-breaker.

Following tonight’s show in New York City, Moss’ US tour will see her visit Washington, DC, Durham, Richmond, and Chicago before ending the year with a show at the Cecil Sharp House in London.
