Me or Us

“I didn’t set out to write a record about the end of my marriage,” Whitmore says. “I was simply writing my way through it, the same way I’ve always processed whatever season of life I’m in. Every song came from a real experience as I tried to make sense of everything that was happening. Somewhere along the way, I realized these songs belonged together, so I ordered them in a way that tells the story from beginning to end, from desperately hoping we’d make it to finally finding the strength to let go. Sharing something this personal is probably the most vulnerable thing I’ve ever done, but ultimately I felt these songs were worth putting into the world. My hope is that if someone is living a story that looks anything like mine, they’ll hear these songs, feel seen, and know they’re not alone. If that happens, then sharing these songs will have been worth it.”

For Texas singer-songwriter Jordan Whitmore, songwriting has always been a way of making sense of life. “When I’m going through something or feeling something deeply, I have to write,” she says. “Putting words to melody is how I process it.”

That approach is at the heart of her forthcoming EP, Me or Us. Written during the dissolution of a long marriage, the six-song collection became the vehicle through which Whitmore processed betrayal, heartbreak, grief, and ultimately acceptance. The title track opens the record with a question: Is it me or us? Written at a moment when the future of her marriage remained uncertain, the song captures the tension between holding on and letting go. The songs that follow ultimately answer that question, tracing a path through loss, surrender, and a willingness to begin again.

Blending Americana roots with a melodic pop sensibility and thoughtful storytelling, Whitmore has spent years creating deeply personal songs that invite listeners into their own stories. Her musical journey has carried her through multiple chapters: from early indie-pop recordings, to a gospel project released under the name EUFAULA, and a growing catalog of Americana-infused releases. Along the way, she has earned recognition from the National Unplugged Songwriting Contest and the John Lennon Songwriting Contest while also landing placements in film and television.

A mother, songwriter, and lifelong storyteller, Whitmore believes music has the power to help people feel less alone. Through her songs, she hopes to offer listeners the same thing songwriting has always offered her: a place to be honest about life and find some hope for the journey.

Based in North Texas, Whitmore continues to write, record, and perform throughout the region while preparing to release Me or Us in October 2026.
