CRAWLERS – Dirty Parts Of Heaven

Crawlers2

Crawlers release their anthemic new single, ‘DIRTY PARTS OF HEAVEN.’ the second offering from their recently announced new EP, LIVE WITH THIS.

Driven by clawing vocals and the desperate, hazy rush of escapism, ‘DIRTY PARTS OF HEAVEN’ wrestles with the tension between artificial euphoria and raw reality. The track captures the heavy weight of a broken world and the constant pull to find genuine peace without relying on the artificial highs.

Speaking about the the track, the band shares;

“‘DIRTY PARTS OF HEAVEN’ is the wild feeling of escapism you get from being high, like when you’re in that drugged-up, romantic, everything-feels-perfect moment. But it’s also asking the big question: Can we ever really experience that feeling without the drugs?

It’s the idea that maybe we’ve already experienced nirvana and, in a messed-up way, the real world just feels like a letdown in comparison. The political climate, the state of everything around us, makes it hard to imagine ever finding that pure connection or peace again. How can we feel that good when the world feels so broken?

It’s the want to be clean, the want to feel real, but battling that desire to go back to the high. The song reflects that struggle of trying to reconcile the highs of the past with the reality of living in the present, especially when it feels like the world’s falling apart.”

Every story has two halves, and Crawlers’ recent EP TURN OFF THE TV is no exception. Where that project was anchored in grief and loss, its follow-up carries a message of growth. LIVE WITH THIS is about acceptance, understanding, and finding peace with all that’s come before.

 LIVE WITH THIS

The EP begins with ‘BIRTHDAY’ followed by the grunge riffs of ‘BORN SCREAMING’ carrying a knowing, ironic ‘fuck it’ as we all sign up for another 24 hours in the hellscape. ‘DIRTY PARTS OF HEAVEN’ was written while Holly was in a period of recalibration, as a way to eulogise the moments of heady connection spent on dancefloors and in bathroom stalls, but also to suggest that maybe we don’t need alcohol and vices to feel the thrill and connection. Meanwhile ‘SURE OF IT’ is one last powerhouse vocal shout into the horizon: a clarion call to stop fighting and walk head-on into the future.

The last couple of years have been a time of reckoning for Crawlers, but with their new work they’re underlining everything they’ve always wanted to be. “We know what we’re in it for now, and it’s our fans and the amazing inner circle who create Crawlers,” says Holly. “We’ve come back to that band who started in a shed in Warrington, but now we’ve got more confidence and experience than ever.”
