Sophia James – Sleepwalking

Singer-songwriter Sophia James  has announced her new EP, Sleepwalking at 65MPH, arriving November 6. Alongside the EP announcement, she offers the latest preview of the six-track project with new single “Never Write a Love Song Again”

“Never Write a Love Song Again” was born out of the complicated aftermath of Sophia’s breakup and the surreal experience of simultaneously promoting “Ryan,” a song she had written about that same relationship while still deeply in love.

“Immediately after a life-altering breakup earlier this year, I found myself promoting a song that I had written early in the relationship about how absurdly in love with him I was,” says Sophia. “It was a bucket of salt on the fresh wound. I’d heard all the warnings from wiser songwriters about the gamble of immortalizing lovers in your music: you either end up with them and forever carry a song that reminds you of them, or you split up and forever carry a song that reminds you of them. I rolled the dice anyway. I wrote ‘Never Write A Love Song Again’ after losing the bet.”

The new single follows “Ryan” and recent release “Finish What You Started.” “Ryan” quickly emerged as a fan favorite when it was released early this summer, generating hundreds of thousands of views and thousands of comments online. “Finish What You Started,” a candid account of the frustration of finding undeniable chemistry with someone who suddenly disappears, followed last month. Both will appear on the new EP, which was produced by GRAMMY®-nominated, multi-platinum producer Alex Bilowitz.

Throughout 2026, Sophia has continued to grow her passionate fanbase, building on the momentum of last year’s viral “Group 7” phenomenon. Along the way, she has performed on NBC’s TODAY, played headline shows and continued connecting with fans through a body of work rooted in clever lyrics, raw emotion and an instinct for finding humor in even the messiest corners of human relationships.
