AKRIILA – lucy miró al mundo y notó que está girando

Today, rising Chilean alt-pop singer-songwriter AKRIILA has released her highly anticipated sophomore album, lucy miró al mundo y notó que está girando (lucy looked at the world and noticed it’s spinning), available today on all major streaming platforms via Atlantic Records.

Executive produced by AKRIILA alongside heartgaze and Vinco, with additional production from umru, the project channels a distinct sense of optimism. It draws visual and thematic inspiration from sources as varied as The Beatles, Ann Demeulemeester, and the art of shelestvetrovki. By framing disorder through an intimate lens, the album discovers beauty amidst the emotional and sonic chaos. It incorporates sounds and visuals she’s shot globally in locations such as Chile, New York, Madrid, Tokyo, and Paris.
Namely, in speaking about the album in her recent NME cover feature, AKRIILA reflected: “Everything is completely messy; you’re looking only at your own problems, extremely self-centred. Then there comes a turning point: a real ray of light has to come in through the window for you to understand there is more out there. That the world is turning and I’m growing.”
The project drops alongside an official music video for the standout track “abrázame.”
Additional album highlights include previously released singles such as “partedemipartedeti” and “roger,” as well as “suave,” a collaboration with digicore artist Jane Remover that marked AKRIILA’s debut on Atlantic Records. Praise for “suave” came swiftly, with Rolling Stone en Español commending it as “an ideal introduction to AKRIILA’s new era, a bilingual, chaotic, and emotionally intense hit that further expands the Chilean artist’s sonic universe” while celebrating how both innovators blend intimate vocals, warped synthesizers, and indie-hyperpop elements. All songs are joined by official companion visuals available on AKRIILA’s YouTube channel HERE.
To support the release, AKRIILA is embarking on an extensive global headline tour, following her debut US leg that included a three-night stint at Elsewhere in Brooklyn, NY, as well as dates in Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. This fall, the tour heads to Europe for dates across the UK, France, and Spain, followed by a Latin American leg covering Mexico, Central America, and South America. The tour will conclude with a homecoming performance on December 12 at Estación Mapocho in Santiago, Chile.
