Brothel in Belize – Obsession

Montreal-based duo Brothel in Belize return with their latest single, “Obsession”, alongside an official music video directed by popvisualz.
The track serves as the third and final single from the band’s highly anticipated debut album, Machine Machine, out June 26 via Atlantic Records.
A dark, hypnotic meditation on the fine line between love and possession, “Obsession” finds Brothel in Belize diving deeper into the emotional and sonic terrain that has earned them a rapidly growing cult following.
In the band’s words:
“‘Obsession’ blurs the line between love and possession – where admiration slowly turns consuming, and intimacy begins to feel like something you can’t escape from. It’s inspired by the tendency to romanticize people too deeply too fast. The vocals become mechanic and express how easily desire can distort reality and turn connection into fixation.”
The release follows recent singles “Lovers by Chance” and “Ephemeral,” both of which have generated significant momentum online. User-generated content featuring the tracks has surpassed 6 million combined TikTok views, introducing the duo’s immersive sound to a rapidly expanding audience ahead of the album’s release.
Machine Machine arrives June 26 as Brothel in Belize’s most ambitious project to date – a boundary-pushing collection that expands upon the duo’s distinctive blend of dark electronic music, cyberpunk aesthetics, analog synth experimentation, and emotionally charged songwriting.
