Jorja Smith – What’s Done Is Done

Today, Jorja Smith returns with new single and video “What’s Done Is Done,” the first release from a new chapter for one of British music’s most distinctive voices.
Released alongside an official video directed by longtime collaborator KC Locke, “What’s Done Is Done” finds Jorja at her most direct and self-assured. Produced by acclaimed London producer P2J, the track pairs subtle percussion and atmospheric electronic textures with a rich, soulful vocal performance, tracing the tension between hurt, acceptance and hard-won resolve with striking clarity and restraint.
Built around a sense of finality, release and self-possession, “What’s Done Is Done” carries the emotional honesty that has long defined Jorja’s songwriting while signaling a fresh sonic direction – understated, assured and powerful. Depicting a message about drawing a line, reclaiming power and accepting what cannot be undone.
Directed by KC Locke, the accompanying video captures the feeling of a full night out with friends – moving between rave scenes, block parties, quiet rooftop moments and solitary transit shots. There is an undeniable sense of realism and familiarity, the visual reflects the push and pull of thinking about love and heartbreak while also losing yourself in the people and moments around you, mirroring the track’s emotional release and sense of escape.
Featuring appearances from Jorja’s real friends, family and collaborators from across the UK – including AJ Tracey, Knucks, Novelist, Nadia Rose, Wohdee, Specs Gonzales, Remi Burgz, Manchester dance collective Trend Kids and The ‘Blue Lights’ Choir – the video reflects the communities and relationships that have remained central to her world throughout her career, giving the visual a feeling of familiarity, celebration and shared history.
