Susie Mills – Lost

Bath-based folk-pop artist Susie Mills returns with her new single ‘Lost’ via APOLLO Distribution, a quietly powerful reflection on early adulthood and the weight of outside expectations.
Built around a stripped-back acoustic arrangement, ‘Lost’ centres delicate melodies and a soft, close vocal, creating a sense of closeness that mirrors the song’s themes of uncertainty and self-doubt.
The track was written in the aftermath of a disrupted transition into adult life. Graduating during the pandemic, Susie found herself entering a working world that had effectively paused, which was far from the sense of momentum she had imagined.
“I wrote this song after graduating in the middle of the pandemic, stepping into the working world at a time when everything had shut down. Instead of the momentum I had imagined, I found myself feeling completely stuck.”
Rather than offering resolution, ‘Lost’ sits with that feeling, creating a point of connection for listeners who have felt the same.
“It’s a quarter-life crisis anthem that captures the moment you realise nothing turns out the way you thought it would. I think it’s something many people will relate to and I hope it makes them feel less alone”, says Susie.
The single is the second release from Susie’s upcoming EP Is It Something I Said, due 21st May. Written and recorded entirely at home, the project reflects the environment it was made in – intimate, raw and unpolished. Across the EP, Susie explores what it means to move through your mid-twenties in the wake of a global standstill, where personal timelines feel increasingly uncertain.
