Baylee Lynn – Heart On My Sleeve

Today marks the highly awaited arrival of Heart On My Sleeve — the debut EP from 18-year-old country sensation Baylee Lynn.

Out now via The Core Records, the six-song project includes her soul-baring new single “Counting Tiles,” premiering today alongside its official music video.
A powerful opening statement from one of country’s most captivating young talents, Heart On My Sleeve kicks off with Baylee’s debut single “Cautiously Optimistic” — a carefree yet boldly confessional anthem that topped Billboard’s new music poll with 64 percent of the vote (winning out over superstars like Sabrina Carpenter) and landed in Billboard’s “Friday Music Guide” (which noted that the track “harkens back to the turn-of-the-century country-pop stylings of Faith Hill and the Chicks”). Over the course of the EP, the Tennessee-bred singer/songwriter brings her naturally sophisticated musicality and unguarded sincerity to standouts like the fiercely self-assured “Heard That” and the beautifully moving “That’s What I’ll Be” (a bittersweet ballad featured on the star-studded Nobody Wants This Season 2: The Soundtrack). Produced by AJ Pruis (a GRAMMY-nominated producer/songwriter/musician known for his work with Megan Moroney, Maddie & Tae, and more), Heart On My Sleeve remains rooted in Baylee’s radiant brand of country-pop, endlessly spotlighting her sweetly soulful vocal work. The follow-up to “You Didn’t Love Me” (a breathtakingly tender portrait of unreturned love), “Counting Tiles” arrives as a piano-led ballad about being blindsided by a breakup. With an unflinching sensitivity, Baylee documents her unraveling and attempts to cope through the ritual of counting tiles on a bathroom floor. After beginning in hushed and haunting intimacy, the song eases into a slow-building ascent and takes on an electrifying energy at the bridge’s devastating swell of heartbreak (“Oh, I’m just counting tiles / Til there ain’t no more to count / I’m just counting tiles / To forget what I’m crying about”). As the closing track to Heart On My Sleeve, “Counting Tiles” ultimately stands as a lasting testament to the pure emotional force of Baylee’s songwriting.
Directed by Kate Bowling (Avery Anna, Deltona), the video for “Counting Tiles” brings the song’s narrative to life with a quietly stunning realism. Adorned in her signature red, Baylee delivers a heart-wrenching performance in a series of close-up shots filmed in a pink-tiled bathroom. The result: a moody and mesmerizing visual that further amplifies the impact of her deeply felt storytelling.
With a rich musical heritage in her family, Baylee got her start singing in church as a little girl growing up in the small town of Greeneville, taught herself to play guitar at just six years old, and soon added piano to her repertoire. Raised on country queens like Dolly Parton, she penned her first song at age 13 and soon developed her singular songwriting voice, tapping into the nuances of love, longing, and vulnerability with a clarity well beyond her years. Now based in Nashville, she’s also made her name as a magnetic live performer, thanks in part to an early-2026 North American tour as support for viral sensation Maddox Batson.
