Daughter Of A Drum – Simple Love

Daughter Of A Drum unveils ‘Simple Love’, a striking new music film directed by award-winning filmmaker Wolf James, which will premiere at the Dublin International Film Festival (DiFF) 2026 on February 28th before going live online on March 3rd.
The film is an official festival selection and forms part of the visual album Pink Breath, hailed as “epic in quality” by The Irish Times.
For the first time ever DiFF have curated an entire programme of Irish music videos from Ireland’s freshest filmmaking talent, including Euro-Country by CMAT, directed by Eilís Doherty and Against All Certainty by Michael D. Higgins ft. Myles O’Reilly, directed by Ellius Grace.
Commissioned by Project Arts Centre for Project Portal (https://projectartscentre.ie/portal/) and produced by Charmer Pictures in collaboration with acclaimed theatre-makers One Two One Two, “Simple Love” is a bold, genre-bending work that weaves music video, dance, and narrative cinema into a singular cinematic experience.
Described as “a gentle rebellion of the binary,” Simple Love journeys through the symbolic death and rebirth of our “trainer” — interrogating performance, identity, and the inherited scripts we wear. With Daughter Of A Drum’s signature fusion of contemporary dance and song at its core, the piece dissolves traditional boundaries between art forms, creating a deeply embodied and emotionally resonant film. #daughterofadrum
