Rising singer-songwriter Haylie Davis has shared her breathtaking new single, “Young Man,” available everywhere now via Fire Records. An official music video premieres today on YouTube, directed by Magnolia Ellenburg.

An introspective lament for misplaced affection propelled by echoey, yearning steel guitar and Davis’s flawless vocal delivery, “Young Man” sees the Los Angeles-based songstress offering up a modern paean to a gone-too-soon acquaintance who never quite focused on the events at hand.

“‘Young Man’ was born a few years back in a Texas green room while I was out on tour with Sam Burton,” says Haylie Davis. “I was fresh off a breakup, emotionally raw, and the song arrived naturally in that in-between space – part exhaustion, part reflection, part release. Later, I brought it to life with Michael Harris at Valentine Recording Studio. Working with Michael was a joy; he creates an atmosphere that’s both encouraging and effortless, making the recording process feel less like work and more like discovery.”

Raised in Northern California and currently based in Los Angeles, Haylie Davis has drawn global attention for her passionate reimagining of classic Laurel Canyon folk-pop, highlighted by her intricate storytelling and remarkable vocal range.
