Sofia Gobbi – Bigger Man

Starting 2026 off right, London-based-alt-pop singer-songwriter Sofia Gobbi releases her new album Bigger Man. The project features collaborations with acclaimed producers Tom Stafford (Orla Gartland, GRACEY) and Grammy-nominated Andrea Mastroiacovo (Olivia Dean, Lewis Capaldi, Sigrid).

Diving into the themes embedded behind the album, and the album’s title, Sofia explains, “Dating today is messy. Roles are shifting, expectations are blurring, and a lot of the time it feels like women are the ones carrying it all – making the first move, planning the dates, picking up the check, and holding the emotional weight. At one point, I thought: fine, I’ll be the bigger man.”
The album additionally features ‘Your Mom’, the latest single to be taken from the London-based creatives’ debut. Offering a colourful, crunchy perspective on one-night stands, the track is a true standout from the project, blending tongue-in-cheek lyricisms with the ever-relatable confusion over what the heart really wants. Doubling down on her satirical approach to songwriting, the track sees Gobbi deliver her own spin on male-centric hookup anthems, delivering her charm and wit with a smirk.
Speaking about ‘Your Mom’, Sofia elaborates, “This song is about when people see you as the ‘nice one’ and assume you’re after something serious, even though you just want to have a bit of fun.” Adding, “There are so many hook-up anthems written by guys about keeping things casual and not catching feelings. I thought, why not write the same kind of song, but from a woman’s perspective?
London-based alt-pop singer-songwriter Sofia Gobbi has quickly made a name for herself with her sharp-witted anthemic sound. Crafting songs that feel both strikingly universal and emotionally charged, she released her debut single in 2022 and has never looked back.
