Alongside the album announcement, Oxis shares the new single “Guili,” an elegant expansion to the subaqueous universe created by the electronic composer.

Oxis 8 includes her previously shared singles “Piranha,” which quickly became a fan favorite across Oxis’ recent shows opening up for Magdelena Bay, and “Fry.”

“Music for me is not a planned thing. Nothing in life is,” Oxis says of her approach to songwriting and the making of Oxis 8. “The pain and beauty of it all is that nothing is constant, and when something feels sensitive and powerful you have to bite at it quickly, or else it disappears. That’s how I made ‘Oxis 8.’ Capturing whatever felt tangible when I sat at my computer. It’s hard to catch a small fish.”

2025 has been a year of relentless growth for Oxis. She released the projects Oxis 7 and the surprise Sardine Tin EP of reimagined covers from the marine-inspired artist project and recently wrapped her run of shows supporting Magdalena Bay across North America.

Oxis’ music invites deep exploration like the vast oceanbodies that Oxis hails from, containing layers of synths, instrumentation and her own hypnotic vocals. Oxis is a vessel to express the heightened intensity of universal teenage emotions, when everything feels like either the jubilant height of one’s life or a descent into a pressure cooker of dark despair. The Oxis projects represent an embrace of the moments those feelings are at their most intense, capturing life’s experiences as they come to embody their true essence in the form of raw, vulnerable and

The Oxis project was initially conceived in 2023, as an exercise of creative liberation and an ode to a very distinct channel of marine electronica. As Oxis, she’s released 7 projects over the last two years with her self-titled project series, consistently iterating on her sound and developing a devoted following in the process. Her work caught the eye of Julian Casablancas, who she opened respective LA and NYC.
