Haylie Davis – Country Boy

Building on the rich, melancholic pop of her first single “Golden Age,” rising star Haylie Davis now turns toward cosmic Americana with her new song, “Country Boy,” a luminous, heartfelt ballad available today.

“Country Boy” is an aching lament to lost outsiders confronted by the big city; in some ways, an answer to Journey’s “Don’t Stop Believing” that resonates like an outtake from Linda Ronstadt’s classic Silk Purse, complete with a wailing steel guitar.

Davis dedicates the track to all the country boys from the Midwest and Southern US states that left their lives behind to come to the city of angels in California, which she also calls home.

Recorded live in one take, it perfectly highlights Davis’ gorgeous vocal range and intricate storytelling, serving as a more mature counterpart to “Golden Age,” and offering a second taste of her debut album, which is set to follow in 2026.
