Producer and songwriter Izzy Camina announces a new EP, Neptune Mood, coming out on November 21st on Helix Records.

To herald the announcement, Camina drops “Seven Seas” (with Angrybaby), a seasonally spooky thumper perfect for your All Hallow’s Eve’s pregames and afters.

“Seven Seas” rests upon a menacing club beat peppered with industrial touches. Joined by a haunted chorus of her own layered vocals, Camina sings of sycophants, banshees, and the rapture of being reborn.

Camina expands further on the collaboration between her and Angrybaby: “We wrote the song in less than 2 hours, so the energy of the track is very immediate and direct. I went into another room to cut vocals and produce the vocal chop hook while he tinkered with the instrumental. Lyrically, the themes are the same – singular focus on transformation, through compulsive modes of (not necessarily sexual) eroticism and annihilation. Doing whatever it takes to reach that apex of human experience, hopefully not at anyone’s expense. That is my modus operandi.”

Her M.O. now revealed, Camina delves deeper into those experiences across Neptune Mood, her first collection of new work in two years. Here, occult and fantastical themes find themselves explored over pounding electronic sounds, all these elements converging into an alt-pop song. Hard techno bangers like “Grimoire” and “Seraphim” demonstrate Camina’s appreciation for all things heavy, while melodic violin strings in “Saline” and the title track provide an epic air to her supernaturally-tinged lyrics. With three of its five songs entirely produced by Camina, the EP presents a singular statement made by an artist hungry to prove herself and her talents.

Neptune Mood arrives November 21st via Helix Records.
