The Noisy – Nightshade

On September 26th, Philadelphia’s The Noisy release the “Nightshade,” the latest single from October 24th’s The Secret Ingredient Is Even More Meat, a deluxe edition of their acclaimed debut album.
In addition to “Nightshade,” a previously unreleased song, this expanded collection features reimagined versions of fan-favorite songs and is accompanied by a series of new music videos.

Fronted by poet Sara Mae Henke (they/them), The Noisy has built a loyal following in Philadelphia’s music scene, as well as in drag and fashion through collaborations with artists like Miss Thing, Avery Goodname (Camp Wannakiki), Wet Betty, and Jasmine Schulte (designer for Mannequin Pussy, Pom Pom Squad) for music video cameos, live variety show performances, and countless fabulous looks. This blend of music, performance art and queer nightlife make The Noisy a visual experience as much as a sonic one. In spring 2023, The Noisy released “Morricone” with a Strega Nona-meets-Clint Eastwood music video and launched a successful crowdfunding campaign for their debut album, The Secret Ingredient is More Meat, produced by Jacob Lawter (Slow and Steady) and in collaboration with Josh Sorrells (Easy Does It), Ash Baker (Bugs Baker), and Nyleen Perez (Pueblo Now).
The original release of the album was accompanied by videos for “Violet Lozenge,” “Backlit,” and the Suspiria-influenced “Ballerino.”
