Daisy Dreams  – Money

Daisy Dreams3

Munich’s rising indie outfit Daisy Dreams have officially signed with Berlin tastemaker label Duchess Box Records (home to celebrated acts like Gurr, Thala, Sofia Portanet) and release their bold new single “Money.” Known for their heady blend of post−punk urgency, wave-pop textures and unshakable hooks, Daisy Dreams now enter a new chapter—one marked by a louder, sharper voice and an unmistakably international ambition.

“Money” is a no−holds−barred critique of capitalist culture, brimming with acerbic wit and icy detachment. Frontwoman and lyricist Verena Lederer delivers a sharp-tongued rejection of the constant pressure to sell, upgrade, and self-optimize:

“DON’T PUT YOUR MONEY ON ME. You don’t need to invest in me—not your time, your money, your energy. I don’t think I’m a good investment, to be honest.”

Through hypnotic grooves, driving guitars and haunting synths and influences of Krautrock, “Money” turns the modern hustle into a hall of mirrors—where lifestyle gurus, finance bros and dating app logic are all part of the same exhausting sales pitch. In Verena’s own words, “It’s a kick in the butt of capitalism.”

The single follows their May release “Cat” and marks a turning point for the band, both sonically and in terms of exposure. After a year spent writing and refining their sound, the six−piece have crafted an even more assertive direction—one still grounded in meticulous guitar work and atmospheric songwriting, but now with a renewed fire for performing live.

Formed in 2022, Daisy Dreams quickly turned heads with their debut single “Moon”, a shimmering nod to bands like Slowdive and Dry Cleaning. Their debut album Moya Moya and subsequent singles established them as one of Munich’s most compelling new voices. But it’s on stage where Daisy Dreams truly come alive, channeling their carefully constructed sound into raw, kinetic energy.

Verena Lederer (vocals, bass synth), Simon Heinz (guitar), Daniel Mirbeth (guitar), Gregor Jaroschka (bass), and Sascha Moecker (drums) make up the full Daisy Dreams lineup. “Money” was produced by Michael Strassmair and Johannes Vopel.

The band’s origin story is as serendipitous as it is charming. As Verena tells it:

“The boys had followed my older projects and contacted me via Instagram, but I never answered. One night after a Rolling Stones concert, I randomly stumbled into a bar I’d never been to—and two of the guys were working there. They were like, ‘Hey, that’s the girl we wanted to work with who never replied!’ They showed me their music, I said ‘cool stuff’, and two months later we played our first gig together.”

With “Money,” Daisy Dreams aren’t just pushing back—they’re pushing forward.
