Lindsey Rose Black – CUNT HONEY

Lindsey Rose Black2

“CUNT HONEY” is a country-meets-alt-pop bop exploring themes around queer identity, y2k purity culture, and feminine power.

“Growing up in a small religious town in Texas, I learned that painful periods were “Eve’s curse” for causing Adam to sin… There’s so much to unpack as to why this is a BANANAS thing to hear as an adolescent in a body that menstruates, and I’ve been actively deconstructing narratives my body has carried around shame, femininity, and sexuality for years. Viva la cunt, honey!”

“CUNT HONEY” features production from John Velasquez (Vacations, Zella Day) and Ella Vos, along with drums from Matthew Frazier of Local Natives.

Lindsey Rose Black is a Fort Worth, TX-raised, Austin and Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who draws from the sonic traditions of both states to craft a singular, twang-kissed alt pop and indie rock sound. Pedal steels mingle with fuzz pedals, fiddles swirl over drum machines, and everything is tied together with Lindsey’s smoky-smooth vocals and vivid storytelling exploring questions of faith, queer identity, and feminine power. Her live band is a three-piece powerhouse featuring veteran touring musicians Emily Moore (Troye Sivan, Gracie Abrams, Mitski) , as well as Ryan Lallier (Fun).

Growing up in the shadow of the Fort Worth stockyards, Lindsey first turned to songwriting in her early teens as a space to be her unabashedly honest, queer, and freaky double Aquarius self. Gradually honing her craft in bedrooms and basements across Japan, Brooklyn, Austin, and Los Angeles, Lindsey is working with producers John Velasquez (Vacations, Ella Vos, Zella Day) and Daniel Chae (Kacey Musgraves, Zach Bryan) for her debut LP, The Myth of the American Cowboy, set for release in 2025. Her releases to date have landed editorial alternative and indie rock playlist features, indie outlet premieres, and radio play.

As a queer woman, Lindsey is immensely passionate about everyone’s right to feel safe in their bodies, in their homes, and at her shows. Armed with a tender and relentless curiosity for the world and her rowdy Texas maverick spirit, this rose is ready to bloom.
