Lauren Lovelle – Won’t Tell You Goodbye

Kansas City’s rising country star Lauren Lovelle is set to release her debut EP Other Dreams on September 9 and today she shares another stunning song off the forthcoming record, “Won’t Tell You Goodbye”
“I decided to call the EP “Other Dreams” based on the opening line of this song, “I’ve got other dreams.” I like how that currently pertains to my work/music balance, or lack thereof. I’ve got other dreams. I found myself repeating that phrase when the blisters on my feet are ripping, when I’m sweaty and covered in ketchup. It’s a mantra that’s gotten me through many rough shifts.
This song is mainly about desperation and shame within a failing relationship. I think love entails a healthy chipping away at the ego, but devotion in the form of unlimited forgiveness is a loss of dignity at some point. It is brave and lonely to be unrelentingly human in the age of apathy, avoidance, and playing it cool.
Duff Thompson is one of my favorite artists in every way. I heard his cover of “Rock and Roll Will Break Your Heart” by the Fratellis, and thought, “If rock and roll doesn’t break my heart, I can surely depend on *unnamed emotionally unavailable man*. But I can let love in the form of partnership be a dream simmering slowly on the back burner. I’d rather give my first love, (music) the chance to break my heart first.” – Lauren Lovelle

Upcoming Tour Dates:
