Cactus Moon – Done Wrong

Cactus Moon

Boise, ID-based indie folk duo Cactus Moon have returned with their new single, “Done Wrong”, ahead of the release of their debut album, Day for Night (August 15th).

Dripping with late-night summer heat and an effortless toe-tapping twang, the track smolders with a gliding fiddle, jangly guitar, and lead singer Chelsea Smith’s powerful vocals that tell the tale of a love caught in crossed wires. A dusky, smoky nod to backroom ballads, the track flickers between contriteness and angry defiance at the punishing whims of the singer’s lover.

Arriving hot on the heels of their acclaimed single “Anytime”, “Done Wrong” is ushering in a new era for Cactus Moon. Formed by singer-songwriter Chelsea Smith and multi-instrumentalist/producer Freeman DeJongh, the Boise-based western folk duo is emerging as a dynamic new voice in the indie music landscape that blends exceptional lyricism, analog warmth, and groove-driven instrumentation into a sound that feels both nostalgic and boldly modern. With roots in Portland’s psych rock scene and the West Coast country circuit, Cactus Moon sits at the forefront of a rising wave of artists redefining the Boise sound with a lush, cinematic soundscape that evokes the melodious folk jams you might hear while frequenting the corner saloon on a full moon night.
