Maggie Lindemann – one of the ones

Today, Maggie Lindemann released her brand new single “one of the ones” via her own label, swixxzaudio and Virgin Music Group. The new track ushers in a new era for the singer-songwriter as she gears up to release her next body of work.
With a fierce hyperpop urgency—a sound that’s upbeat, cinematically flourishing, and unapologetically raw, “one of the ones” blends glitchy synths and punchy, distorted percussion, creating a sense of emotional whiplash that mirrors the push-pull of the lyrics. Lindemann’s vocal delivery moves between seductive and distant, layered with effects that add a digital sheen without dulling the vulnerability beneath. Toeing the line between intimacy and self-destruction, the song is a sonic tightrope walk between connection and isolation, set to a beat that refuses to stand still.
In the official video for “one of the ones,” which made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, MTV Biggest Pop and on the Paramount Times Square billboards, Lindemann steps into a surreal, hyper-stylized office setting and exuding chaotic confidence. The sterile workplace quickly becomes a playground for her rebellion. As she sings about emotional disconnection and being undervalued in a relationship, she dances through the building taking photos of herself, and causing mild mayhem with a smirk.
Of the track, Lindemann shared “This song is about the tension between craving connection and pushing people away. It’s kind of chaotic and a little reckless, but honest — that feeling when you don’t know if someone’s the real thing or just another moment. It’s vulnerable but guarded. Like… ‘you could be the one’ — but don’t get too close.”
Prior to “one of the ones,” Lindemann’s 2022 debut album SUCKERPUNCH — now surpassing 250 million streams — marked a pivotal moment in her ever-evolving sound. Blending abrasive industrial textures with haunting melodies and experimental vocal work, the album served as both a sonic reinvention and a bold artistic statement, solidifying her place at the forefront of genre-defying music. In 2024, she followed it with the HEADSPLIT EP, celebrated with two sold-out shows at the iconic Troubadour in Los Angeles.
With over a billion streams, a fiercely loyal global fanbase, and a debut headline tour — the SUCKERPUNCH World Tour — that sold out in just four minutes, Maggie Lindemann is entering her boldest musical era yet. As the founder and creative force behind her clothing brand SWIXXZ, she’s not just building a brand — she’s shaping a movement. This isn’t heartbreak for heartbreak’s sake; it’s songwriting as survival: raw, real, and unapologetically her.
