Alison Goldfrapp – Hey Hi Hello

Alison Goldfrapp-by Mat Maitland

Today, synth-pop visionary Alison Goldfrapp shares “Hey Hi Hello,” the fourth track from her highly anticipated album Flux, out August 15th via her recently launched record label, A.G. Records.

“Hey Hi Hello,” the luminous opening track of Flux, bursts into life in a haze of longing that intertwines heartache with a glimmer of hope and renewal. Awash in shimmering synths and bittersweet euphoria, it traces the emotional arc of a love that’s drifted away but refuses to fully fade. “We don’t make sense now,” Alison confesses over glistening, pillowy textures, before the track swells into a breathtaking outro where she pleads, “I never wanted to let you go.” Melodically rich and emotionally raw, it blends retro Euro-disco sensibilities with a sleek modern pop sheen. “I think it has a Euro kind of sound to it,” she says. “A simplicity too, I like that it’s melodic, up and at the same time a little melancholic.”

FLUX

“Hey Hi Hello” follows a series of standout singles that have set the tone for Flux: the glittering, escapist anthem “Find Xanadu”; the fever-dream futurism of “Reverberotic”; and the celestial shimmer of “Sound & Light,” inspired by Alison’s lifelong desire to witness the Northern Lights. Co-produced by Alison, Swedish songwriter Stefan Storm (Sound Of Arrows) and Richard X, Flux marks an exciting chapter for Alison as she embarks on her journey as an independent label owner with A.G. Records.
