S.G. Goodman – Planting By The Signs

Today, S.G. Goodman released her third studio album Planting by the Signs, out now on Slough Water Records / Thirty Tigers.

She also released the video for “I’m In Love.”
S.G. Goodman’s first album in three years, Planting by the Signs is a reminder of the Kentucky born and raised singer-songwriter’s razor-sharp lyricism, singular voice and seamless blend of indie rock and subtle rural influences. The album is a stunning collection of songs that explore grief, love, rest and reconciliation through the lens of the ancient Appalachian tradition of planting by the signs of the moons. Each song sparkles with references to lunar cycles, astrology, and even subtle nods to playing cards, whose 52 cards represent the 52 weeks of the year, each suit a season.
The album is a result of years of dogged touring, having to suppress emotions to make it through, as well as a powerful reconciliation with her longtime collaborator Matt Rowan, after the death of their mutual friend Mike Harmon, who helped inspire the album’s concept as well.
