Julie Hill – Be Well

Multi-genre NY artist Julie Hill shares a new one-off single/video, “Be Well.” The video, directed by Madeleine Richardson, was mostly filmed in the Chinatown area of Manhattan.
Julie Hill (she/her) is a Brooklyn-based musician who loves any type of keyboard and most synths. The song “Be Well” is about creating a new reality for oneself.
“The last few years really taught me how important it is to find community, how important it is to communicate and connect with the ones you care about. “Be Well” is about self-growth, and how being kind is being human. The song speaks to the mental/ emotional challenges (anxiety, stress from work, or something else) that everyone deals with and about how being well means grounding yourself from the inside. This song is for fans of weirdo synth rock.”
Julie’s self-titled synth rock album (Galtta Records, 2021) is an analog collaboration with Paul Millar (aka Slugbug) centered around themes of relationships and sexuality. The songs on her psych-influenced EP New Reality (Manimal Records, 2023) are poetic explorations of the liminality between fantasy and reality. Julie’s latest album glow serene (Umé Records, 2024) is a collection of ambient improvisations and experimental songs centered on themes of love, memory, and mindfulness.
