Kat Velasco – Name On My Phone

Dynamic Western pop vocalist Kat Velasco has just released her highly anticipated single, “Name on my Phone.”
A bright and wistful track about getting lost in new love, this song is our peek into Velasco’s diary, as she gushes over her mystery lover.
Written by Kylie Sackley, alongside Erin Kirby and Robyn Dellunto, and produced by Andy Sheridan, “Name on my Phone” transports audiences back to that “butterflies in your stomach” emotion of crushing on someone new. With lyrics like, “When it lights up / I won’t lie, if it ain’t you / I get disappointed every time…,” and, “When we hang up / Do you miss me / Like I miss you…,” Velasco narrates the rollercoaster of internal thoughts one experiences when catching themselves infatuated by their lover. As the singer herself describes it, this single is “…all about that undeniable spark when someone new comes into your life–the thrill, the late-night texts, and the way they start taking up space in your world.” Behind the vocals, listeners can hear a layer of instrumentals performed by Jared Kneale on drums, Matt Utterback on bass, John Shaw on electric guitar, and Sheridan on keys. When played all together, the instrumentals lay the foundation for an upbeat and sunny atmosphere throughout the track’s duration, giving it an “…effortlessly cool…made for summer drives…” energy. “Name on my Phone” kick-starts the summer season with both lyrics and production that embody the tenderness of fantasizing about fresh love, “golden hour, [and] warm breezes.”
