Sedona – Every Once In A While & The Culprit

Chatsworth, CA native Sedona returns today with two new singles, the shimmering “Every Once In A While” and its softer b-side, “The Culprit.” The rising newcomer has been turning heads since the announcement of her debut record, Getting Into Heaven, earlier this year, and the release of its first two tracks, “She’s So Pretty” feat. Claud, and “Best Kept Secret.”

Reminiscent of female leads like Sheryl Crow and Courtney Love, Sedona’s “Every Once In A While” combines unwavering vocals and brutally honest lyrics with an undeniable hook.

Soaked in melancholic sweetness, the song feels like one that would be performed at The Bronze bar on a Friday night in Buffy The Vampire Slayer. Fusing 70’s soft rock, 80’s power ballads, and 90’s alternative — all genres that have soundtracked Sedona’s life — we arrive at a sunlit, dew-dropped, and ethereal, one-of-a-kind patchwork quilt resembling velvet Americana.
