Bellzzz – Dear Elizabeth

Follow the white rabbit and let Bellzzz take you deep into the woods of her imagination. The strength of it all lies in the storytelling. She’s Alice caught in a wonderland that takes on an uncanny parallel to reality, some ‘other’ world full of lost boys and neverland girls.
Today, the story is complete with the release of Bellzzz’s debut EP Dear Elizabeth, equal parts tender and unsettling; guitars mix with swirling samples and industrial flourishes to create a sound with cinematic instinct.

The project arrives with focus single “Conquests”, an alt-pop feminist anthem which takes aim at sexual hypocrisy.
With luscious melodies laid over an effervescent, electronic-warped beat, Bellzzz celebrates her sexuality. The video represents ‘Elizabeth’ lost in the forest who finally finds Bellzzz, the musical mouthpiece for the telling of her story – a second narrative running alongside the inspiration for the single itself.
Speaking on “Conquests”, Bellzzz elaborates: “This is about sexual double standards. The fact that men get to wear how many partners they’ve like a badge of honour while women are slutshamed. It’s about how, when women point these things out, men will tell you how different things are today and that you should be grateful – while ignoring what you’re telling them you’ve experienced.”
‘Elizabeth’ is Bellzzz’s invention, a young girl who stepped into her imagination as a child and out onto the page. There’s a story to be unravelled. Elizabeth runs away. From what, to where, and who she finds on the way are all things you’ll discover in this tale of Burtonesque horror and whimsy. Her story runs parallel to Bellzzz’s own, where themes of loneliness, identity and escape become tangled into the same knot.
Sharing her vision for Dear Elizabeth, Bellzzz shares: “Crafting this collection of songs has been my journey to visit Elizabeth and wander through the landscapes of my imagination. Through her eyes, my melodies find their voice, and my lyrics weave the stories only she can tell.”
