Cat Rose Smith – Nowhere
Calling all fans of Gillian Welch and Sierra Ferrell, get ready to be swept away by the captivating sounds of London-based Americana artist Cat Rose Smith’s new single, ‘Nowhere’. With its campfire sing-along appeal, ‘Nowhere’ beckons the listener to join in, conjuring a sense of community and shared experience. ‘
Of “Nowhere”, Smith says, “Funnily enough, ‘Nowhere’ was in large part inspired by the video game Red Dead Redemption 2. The game is set during the dwindling days of the gunslingers amid stunning Western backdrops, with a rich and emotional story that addresses themes of honor, belonging, and the natural world. I was drawn in by both the atmosphere and story, and as a result ended up writing a little Western saga of my own in ‘Nowhere’.”
Cat Rose Smith is a rising star in the small but mighty London folk & Americana scene, having recently played nights at iconic venues such as the Troubadour and Paper Dress Vintage. “Nowhere” was produced by Jason Boesel, who has previously collaborated with Rilo Kiley, Dawes, Bright Eyes, and others.
