Artist of the Month – March 2024

Singer Maha Shami has fully come into her own as a front person, snarling out the most vicious vocals of her career. As the daughter of refugees, a recent return home to Palestine included witnessing first-hand the casual atrocities inflicted on her family. Though written before the current conflict’s boiling point, Glitter and Spit synthesizes the 70+ years of systemic violence carried out against Palestine and her own lived experiences.

NØ MAN are proud to debut the brand new music video for “Glitter and Spit”, the title track from the band’s highly anticipated new album due out on March 29th via Iodine Recordings.

“‘Glitter and Spit’ is about not letting people distort your reality to fit their fantasy,” shares NØ MAN. “We’ve never been comfortable with the idea of making a music video and really just wanted to make something that felt true to our live shows. Years ago Joseph Pattisall made one of our favorite videos for our friends in Striking Distance and we were thrilled when he was up for helping us with ours.” Later this March, the band will play a series of benefit shows to raise funds for United Nations Relief and Works Agency and Palestine Youth Movement, both organizations that support the Palestinian people.

On their third full-length album, the Washington DC band affirm their essential presence as a necessary voice in modern hardcore. Formed in 2017, the four-piece punk band has been alchemizing the personal and the political from the jump. Composed of members from Majority Rule, the band’s current aims go hand-in-hand with their past, sonically and thematically.
