Crow and Gazelle – Blackbird
Today Crow and Gazelle release “Blackbird” from their forthcoming LP, As Above Now So Below, out on out on April 26th.
Crow and Gazelle is Mike McClure (co-founder of The Great Divide, Oklahoma Music Hall of Fame Inductee, and Red Dirt pioneer) and his partner in life and music, Chrislyn Lawrence.
“Blackbird” is about the early days of their relationship, when they realized they no longer had to be alone. As Above Now So Below is about seeking love, forgiveness, and healing, when everything we’ve been taught tells us we’re powerless. It’s about letting go and stepping into the power of who we really are. The band says, “Letting go of worn out beliefs, letting go of anything that doesn’t serve your soul, is a pathway to healing and to reclaiming the real power of divine love – abundance, liberation, harmony, connection, – above and below, inside and all around. When we honor our true and interconnected nature, we can create a better world – we can become the one we’ve been waiting for.”
