Emei – 711

Following on from the highly anticipated release of Emei’s debut EP ‘Scatterbrain’ on the 20th October, Emei drops an official music video for the first track off the project, ‘711’. Directed by Aser Santos Jr., the video acts as a gorgeous accompaniment to this fan favourite.

Speaking on the meaning behind the song ‘711’, Emei shares that “711’ is about social anxiety and being constantly worried about giving off a bad impression. I feel like we’re all under the pressure of trying to be this person that other people want us to be and saying things that they want to hear (always being ready with the regular acceptable “party stories”). 711 (the convenience store) is often a safe haven for me and my friends after a bad night out where we can get our favorite snacks and unload. The sonics of the song is inspired by the hectic feeling of a night out and the pounding in your head from being so worried about what other people think.”
