Eleni Drake – Let It Go and Let It Be

London based singer, songwriter, producer and guitarist Eleni Drake releases new single “Let it Go and Let it Be” ahead of a full band performance at The Great Escape festival and following a successful trip to Austin, Texas for 2024’s SXSW Festival.
“Let it Go and Let it Be” is quintessential Eleni Drake – a swooning and blissful song about self empowerment underpinned by a luscious soundscape concocted by laid back drums, a subtly effected and almost slack guitar line and a beguiling organ beckoning the listener closer in.
Serving as an act of self-possession befitting an artist who’s sublime star is in ascent, of the new track, Drake said:
“I wanted there to be a real relaxed flare to this song, kind of like brushing something off, almost living in a state of bliss. What is the point of devoting time, care, love into someone – be it friendship or partnership – only for you to be taken for granted, or for them to paint you out to be someone you are not. I know who I am, and the qualities I possess, that I have kindness and love to give, but I will not be used or taken for granted”.
“Let it Go and Let it Be” is the first taster of an upcoming EP scheduled for release this autumn via new label home MNRK (Jelani Blackman, Delilah Montagu). Written and produced by Drake herself, the recording also features drummer Cameron Easton who has played live with her at recent sold out headline performances at London’s Amazing Grace and St Pancras Old Church.
