Mystic Tea Party – Slipstream

Mystic Tea Party release their debut album Slipsteam.

Formed by Blume and Sebastian, Mystic Tea Party has established a distinctive presence within Australia’s alternative music landscape, building a dedicated cult following through a fiercely independent, multidisciplinary approach to music and performance. Since their debut, the duo has completed multiple Australian tours, performed at Sydney Mardi Gras, and expanded internationally with their debut London shows in 2025.

Fronted by intersex activist Blume, whose online audience exceeds 500,000 followers, the project has cultivated an international community around its cinematic aesthetic, emotionally charged live shows and genre- fluid catalogue. With support from triple j and radio stations internationally, Mystic Tea Party now enters its most significant chapter to date, with their debut album set for release in October 2026.

Arriving in October 2026, Slipstream marks a defining turning point for Mystic Tea Party. An 11-track debut album that captures the band at their most expansive, immersive and fully realised.

The record brings together a few fan favourites, given a second life within the world of Slipstream. Alongside a collection of new material including the three new singles released throughout the album’s lead-up.

Across its 11 songs, the album moves through a constantly evolving musical language of alternative rock, dream pop, trip-hop, psychedelia, electronica and beyond, often changing shape before it can comfortably settle into one definition.

At its core, Slipstream represents Mystic Tea Party’s celebrated refusal to be contained by genre niches. Instead of writing to fit a particular scene, the duo continues to build its own: a cinematic, surreal and emotionally charged world where each song is allowed to become exactly what it needs to be. Slipstream is Mystic Tea Party stepping fully into that world.
