Silence The Echo – Broken

Silence The Echo, one of Finland’s promising exports in modern metal, have released their new single “Broken”.

The track continues the band’s musical journey following their debut album Liberation, released in January 2026, and the subsequent single “Stand Your Ground”, which was accompanied by a stunning futuristic music video.

Combining sensitivity with explosive power, “Broken” explores the pain and emotional wounds inflicted by life. Soulful verses, heartfelt vocal performances and electronic pop influences builds into a massive, melodic and infectious chorus before culminating in a heavy, aggressive breakdown. The composition reflects the story told by the lyrics. This contrast between catchy melodies, vulnerability and uncompromising heaviness lies at the heart of Silence The Echo’s musical identity.

“At its core, the song revolves around a simple but powerful statement: ‘I’m broken.’ It describes how life experiences can leave us wounded, lost and disconnected from ourselves, whether through loss, broken relationships or our deepest personal struggles. ‘Broken’ explores the pain and vulnerability that are part of being human”, the band explains, continuing:

“While the song also touches on the brokenness of the world around us, its focus is on the individual experience and the inner struggles that often remain invisible to others. Sometimes pain stays hidden beneath the surface, while at other times it erupts visibly as sorrow, anxiety or aggression. Beneath it all lies a quiet longing for love, comfort and acceptance – even when finding a way forward feels difficult.”

Silence The Echo was formed in Lahti, Finland, in 2022 by vocalist Katja Stefanovic and composer Jani Stefanovic (ex-Solution .45, Miseration). The band’s sound combines the intensity and fury of modern metal and metalcore with electronic elements and melodic hooks. In 2024, the lineup expanded into a full band with the addition of guitarist Teemu Rautiainen (ex-One Morning Left), drummer Nikke Karaksela and bassist Tommi Huuskonen.

This winter, Silence The Echo will take the stage at festivals as well as embark on a four-date Finnish tour alongside Italian modern metal act Never Obey Again and Finnish metalcore band Balance Breach.
